It's the interaction that I find meaningful; I enjoy the networking especially when I get to learn from others' perspectives wherever part of the globe they may be.

What do you like about being a part of ACMP?
ACMP is a very safe community; at first I didn't feel very confident presenting myself to others because I used to assume that I might be treated differently. But because of volunteering in ACMP Connect, and after experiencing the level of engagement that I had with co-volunteers and those leading the community, all my assumptions were proven wrong. ACMP is led by warm and welcoming professionals who openly listen to the members.

I love the recent Virtual Buzz Session on Change Makers Unplugged: Exploring Trends and Hot Topics for Tomorrow's Success. Aside from the opportunity to moderate a room with very competent and highly engaging members, I also got to learn a lot from the various topics that were presented in that session. I picked up a lot of valuable insights, plus a I met new people too!

Volunteering is a meaningful way for me to give back to the community and support others in their personal and professional growth. It allows me to expand my own knowledge, network with like-minded individuals, and engage with people who share a passion for learning and growth. Volunteering provides me with a unique challenge to stretch my thinking, discover new perspectives, and develop skills in areas that I might not encounter in my day-to-day work. I find fulfillment in working alongside a volunteer team that is committed to supporting one another, fostering a collaborative environment where everyone can contribute their expertise and learn from each other.

What do you get personally out of volunteering?
Volunteering helps me maintain discipline in engaging with both existing and emerging knowledge. It challenges me to regularly update and refresh my skills while broadening my perspective on new tools, techniques, and approaches. The process of actively researching and staying informed about the latest trends in technology and change management enhances my ability to contribute meaningfully to the community. There is also a deep sense of satisfaction in helping other whether it’s mentoring young people or supporting colleagues in the industry. Volunteering provides a sense of purpose and fulfillment, especially when I can directly contribute to the success and development of others. Giving back to ACMP, in particular, helps me stay connected with the values that drive the organization's mission and further develop my own professional growth.

I'm one of the few people at my current workplace who practices change management. I love to connect with and learn how others at ACMP are working in various CM roles around the world. Also, it's a good feeling to work with a great team to foster greater inclusion and sense of belonging across ACMP. Change management is at it's best when holding a welcoming space and encouraging engagement.

What do you like about being a part of ACMP?
I'm in such good company here at ACMP. It's been a treat to work with fellow volunteers, and it's been delightful to meet people in person at my PNW chapter meetings! Discussing important ideas and observations that have informed our experiences helps us to continue cultivating this fascinating line of work. ACMP is simply the Best! ACMP contributes to the growth of the change management profession and its members. ACMP is forward thinking in its approach. Recently, it has been intentional in its effort to demonstrate the use of AI through different channels, webinars and SME's on the subject. ACMP integrates and collaborates with other global institutions to enhance the way change is delivered. The collaborative effort with ICF (International Coaching Foundation) and IABC (International Association of Business Communicators) has enhanced the way change is managed and delivered . The Tools to drive change are in abundance, from the huge virtual library and access to other resources and the opportunity to network with its huge network of change professionals globally. I am passionate about change management and communications and really enjoy volunteering in roles that allow my strong suite to shine, while also enabling opportunities to grow in other areas. I love being able to review processes and procedures that are in place today and having the opportunity to suggest improvements or changes to create efficiencies and follow best practices. Governance and strategic planning are areas I'm excited about personally and love that I get an chance to grow in those spaces!

Volunteering gives me a sense of greater purpose and connection. I get to be part of something far bigger than myself. Furthermore, I get to engage with several people who care about this field, as well as making a difference. It also challenges me to continue to keep growing as a change leader, a coach, as well as a professional. I’ve learned a lot of new things, built meaningful relationships, and stayed fully connected to what matters; supporting others through change in such a way that’s considerate, authentic, and people-centered. Truthfully, it just feels right to give back and be active in a way that fits my principles.

It is certainly a development opportunity. As a member of the Content Advisory Board and a Speaker Liaison, I get to preview many presentations. Constantly in a state of learning. I also am just a tad outgoing (OK, maybe more than a tad) and this allows me to connect and support people all over the world.
