What CCMP Grads are Saying

ACMP is close to certifying the First 500 Certified Change Management Professionals™ (CCMP™)! This month, we are looking at what CCMP Grads are saying about their CCMP journey – not just how they got certified, but why they got certified. For those of you who are not yet certified, we also have some tips to share so you, too, can become certified! As a reminder, you can take the exam at a global exam center now through the end of the year so complete your application to join the First 500!

“This certification allows an individual pursuing it the ability to exemplify proven experience in the practice. Whereas some certifications are provided after a course completion, this is a more holistic certification based on continual learning in the field and application of the methodology. It has allowed me to connect with fellow change management professionals, share best practices, and understand how other industries are applying the methodology.”

Christine Arena, Organizational Change Management Lead

“Getting my CCMP was an important credential on my journey as an organizational change strategist. I believe it will become a differentiating credential for employers and leaders looking to collaborate with qualified change management professionals.”

Brenda Sprite, President and CEO, Success By Sprite, LLC

“I focused on solidifying my knowledge by studying the material that ACMP provides. This also included taking a course from the Qualified Education Provider™ Registry. All of this further strengthened my knowledge and understanding of the change process - mostly through affirmation. Finally, I reviewed the concepts by using the flash cards.”

William Lightfoot, Consultant and Educator, Epoch Strategy and Change

“I timed my training to occur close to writing the exam so it would be fresh in my mind. I used memory cards provided by the training company along with the flash cards from the ACMP site. I also read The Standard for Change Management® a few times.”

Alexandra Salamis, CEO Integral Leadership Design

“For the essay questions, I first selected the questions that excited me and related to my past experiences in the field. As I began capturing my thoughts for a single essay, I would come up with ideas for other essays so I jotted these down on the separate blank pages for follow up. I initially wrote the essay response in full, imagining that I had no maximum word limit. As a final step, I edited down the final essay response to ensure that it met maximum word count and contained the most essential response elements.”

Aldean Jakeman, Project Manager, ISC

Maintaining Your CCMP

ACMP has a number of opportunities to help you earn your 60 PDU hours required to maintain your CCMP. You can earn hours in two of the three areas required: “Education” and “Giving Back to the Profession” by attending our ACMP conferences and webinars, taking training with a QEP provider, or by volunteering for ACMP. Please see below for more information on these opportunities and don’t forget to log in to the portal to track them as you go.

ACMP Conferences

Are you attending our upcoming Regional Conference in Europe or our annual conference in Las Vegas, USA? If so, you can earn PDUs! Be sure to check the new ACMP Conference website for detailed program information. Attendance at conference sessions fall under the “Education” category.

Monthly Webinars

ACMP is now offering TWO webinars a month to broaden options for the wide range of topics and experience levels our practitioners have. Check out our website for the full listing of upcoming webinars. If you are unable to attend on the scheduled date, members can also view recordings of webinars in the updated Resource Library on the ACMP website. Each webinar counts for 1 PDU in the “Education” category.

Qualified Education Provider™ (QEP™) Courses

One of the foundational elements ACMP has established for the profession is the Qualified Education Provider Registry – a catalogue of courses that adhere to adult education best practices and align to The Standard for Change Management®. Many of you enrolled in a QEP to fulfill the education requirement for the CCMP; you can also take courses in the registry to count toward the ongoing education requirement. The QEP Registry is growing so be sure to check back often.

Volunteer Opportunities

The ACMP Call for Volunteers is open October 2-31! ACMP has an active community of volunteers who support the organization and the profession in a wide range of roles. Check out ACMP’s Volunteer Central for more information about ways you can contribute your time and skills to leading the way change works. By being an active contributor to one of the volunteer committees, you can earn PDUs toward the “Giving Back to the Profession” category.

Speaking and Presentation Opportunities

ACMP has many opportunities for you to share your knowledge and apply your skills by creating change management-related content. The Call for White Papers is open now until October 16th; the winning white paper will be featured at Change Management 2018 in Las Vegas next March. Also, the Call for Speakers for Regional Conferences is open until December 31st. If selected for either the white paper presentation or to speak at a regional conference, you can earn PDUs for the “Giving Back to the Profession” category.
