Why do you volunteer?
“I volunteer with ACMP because it provides me with opportunities to develop my leadership and change management knowledge and skills, while contributing to the advancement of our profession.
Volunteering has given me a place to learn, to try a variety of roles (committee member, chair, co-chair) within a variety of committees (communications, QEP, and membership). It's given me access to some of the brightest thought leaders in our field, and provided me a platform where I've built a change management network of professionals who have become my friends and family.”
What do you like about being a part of ACMP?
“I like having found "my people" here. I like the opportunity to contribute to the future of ACMP and the future of change management. And I love never having to explain what change management "is" or see a confused look when I tell people what I do. We all speak the same language.”
More About Beth…
Favorite ACMP Conference: “European Regional Conference in Amsterdam, November 2017 - because it was only about a hundred people, which made it easy to meet almost everyone. Also, since I was away from home in another country, where I don't speak the language, my mind was already more open and curious than usual. This allowed me to soak up culture and learning that has made a real difference in my work.”
