ACMP News June: Take a Moment to Re-Align and Re-Evaluate

June is Effective Communications Month (yes, this is true). Being able to express oneself in a clear and understandable manner helps decrease misinterpretation, confusion and conflict. But let’s see if we can take this one step further and elevate communications to re-align our professional values and re-evaluate our priorities.  Change of any kind is rich ground for shifting the order of priorities as well as re-creating and re-configuring your relationships and boundaries. Maybe it is time to strengthen your relationship with your colleagues and specifically ask them for help when the going gets tough - that’s certainly effective communication.

As change professionals, you know to take it all in stride and do not resist the change whether it is your inspired idea or someone else initiating a change. Without rejecting another’s sense of value, let’s be clear and confident in our own boundaries so we can take a stand and follow through on realigning our professional values.

In the April 2017 issue of Forbes, there was an excellent article we wanted to share called “The Importance Of Aligning Your Values With Your Relationships.” So, to effectively introduce this month’s newsletter, we will leave you with a powerful line from the article: “Think about what is important to you, how you choose to live your life and what brings you joy and satisfaction.”

What's your impact going to be?

A Call for Members – Invite a Friend to Join ACMP!

What makes ACMP special? It’s simple…YOU! Our members, volunteers and leaders share a passion for the discipline of change management but also value the connections they make!

Check out what our members are saying:

Julie Jordan chose to volunteer for “the chance to meet other professionals and give back to a community whose values I embody on a daily basis.” Those shared values are what makes ACMP’s community special.

Nick Freeman said, “I attended my first regional conference in Vancouver - it was outstanding! The richness was being able to connect with likeminded folks and hear from great thought leaders.” Those rich connections are what makes our community special.

Do you know someone who is looking to join a community and who shares the same passion for change management? Now is the time to tell them about ACMP and encourage them to join ACMP.
