Message from the Board of Directors





ACMP has reached some critical milestones. We’d like to highlight a few, as well as provide a quick follow up message to another successful Global Conference.
ACMP's Vision & Mission
One of the roles of your Board of Directors is to set direction, including the vision, mission and strategy for the Association of Change Management Professionals. Developed by the Board and incorporating input and feedback of our members, we are excited to announce ACMP's new vision and mission! We believe these statements effectively capture ACMP’s purpose, and reflect the passion and commitment we all have for advancing the discipline of change management.

A vision statement is intended to be future-oriented, inspirational and aspirational. When we shared the original draft of the vision, the top comment we received back was that it needed to include a strong focus on ACMP having a position of leadership. We worked to make this statement as focused and broad as possible. A mission statement defines the present state or purpose of an organization, and it describes at a high level, ACMP's role in accomplishing the vision. So these two statements together create the context for our strategic focus over the years to come.

Change Management Certification Available Now!
One of ACMP’s founding goals has been to establish a professional credential that helps practitioners stand out in the marketplace.

We are pleased to announce that the Certified Change Management ProfessionalTM (CCMP) certification is now available! If you would like to learn more about eligibility requirements, please click here.

Congratulations to our first 88 CCMP credentialed individuals! Submit your application now and be in the first 500 CCMP.
Change Management 2016 Conference Success!
With nearly 1,100 attendees joining us at our annual ACMP conference, we celebrated our largest annual conference to date! Change Management 2016 will be remembered as not only thought-provoking and inspiring, but reaching several milestones:
  • ACMP’s 5-year anniversary
  • Introduction of the CCMP credential program delivering on our promise of an independent change credential based on a global practice standard. Change Management is an official profession. With the availability of a credential, we now have all the components that makes ACMP the home of change management professionals around the world.
  • News of more outstanding ACMP conferences: Regional Conference - Canada taking place October 2016 in Toronto and Change Management 2017, taking place May 21-24 in New Orleans. Registration is open for both!
Change Management 2016 Presentation Video Bundle
Change Management 2016 offered over 40 unique presentations. If you missed out on any of these presentations, or were unable to attend the conference, we have good news. ACMP is now offering a video bundle that will give you access to all of the breakout sessions.

Offering a video bundle is something new for ACMP, and is an exciting new channel to access conference material, but it required a significant technical investment. Conference attendees are entitled to a discount (see your conference emails for details); non-attendee pricing varies by member and non-member. To order the video bundle, please click here.
Volunteer Calendar Change
We often say that our volunteers are the heart of ACMP, and it’s true! We could not accomplish all that we do without our faithful volunteers. Thank you!

Typically, our volunteers serve from June to May. We have decided to change our volunteer year to a calendar year and therefore we invite our current volunteers to continue for an additional 6 months. (Conference-related committees will remain on the June to May calendar due to conference planning timelines.)

If you are not currently volunteering and would like to do so, we have opened the Call for Volunteers. We welcome the help and will share with you some of the interesting tasks we have ahead of us for the remainder of this calendar year.
Board of Directors Changes

With the start of our new fiscal year, we would like to introduce our two newest board members: Roxanne Brown and Karl-Heinz Oehler. Both will serve from June 1, 2016 until May 31, 2019. Of course, we are also pleased to welcome back Kate Nelson as she begins her second term on June 1st.

Roxanne Brown brings many years of change management experience to ACMP. She is currently the Organizational Change Management Director at Capital One and is looking forward to using her experience to help ACMP achieve its new vision and mission.

Karl-Heinz Oehler also has a wealth of experience in change management. He is currently a partner and Managing Director for Europe with Denison Culture. Karl-Heinz has a clear idea about the top change management issues that organizations face, and he is looking forward to how his unique insights and experience can help shape the future of ACMP.

Frances Harpst has served on the board since 2013 and has been a valued contributor and thought leader, particularly in her board liaison role for Chapters and Communities. Now at the end of her term, Frances steps down from the Board and will be missed in that role, particularly for her great questions, sense of fun and willingness to tackle our development challenges! We wish her well and look forward to her continued volunteerism in other capacities. Thank you Frances!
