Presentation Abstract

Who truly influences your organization during times of change? The Change Ambassador – individuals who are the eyes and ears of your organization, trusted peers and confidants who carry a wealth of knowledge about how people really think and behave. If you or your leadership are in any way disconnected from the people who are impacted by change, you need to accurately and efficiently find influential employees and engage them as ambassadors. In the past, these efforts have been haphazard. Today, cutting-edge analytics and social networking are making it possible to identify influencers, examine their change orientation and illustrate how they can be engaged to serve as ambassadors. Through case studies and interactive software, we will illustrate how cutting-edge analytics are complimenting time-tested change management practices. With better data and analysis, Change Ambassadors help decision-makers act on what really happens, not just what they think is happening.

Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the role of the Change Ambassador and their value to an organization
2. Develop an awareness of academic social network analysis techniques that can improve the effectiveness of change management
3. Gain an understanding of how increased accuracy in identifying influencers saves time & money
