Title: Using Data in Change Execution: Tools and Strategies

Description:

Data collection, analysis, and reporting is a specialized skill that can be extremely valuable in change implementation. This workshop will provide a deep dive into the range of options available for gathering and using qualitative and quantitative data at various points in the life cycle of change initiatives. I will share real-life examples of data collection approaches and reports, and discuss the challenges and pitfalls that practitioners can encounter in designing, selecting, conducting, reporting, and interpreting data—along with potential solutions and effective practices. Participants will be think through the initiative data strategy for initiative and will receive a curated list of resources for further study and exploration.

Skill Level: Advanced (5+ years of Change Management Experience)

Bio:

Linda Hoopes has spent more than 25 years helping leaders and change agents use data effectively in their work. She was the head of research/assessment services for Daryl Conner’s firm ODR, developing data collection approaches and tools for the MOC and CEM methodologies. She has led and participated in a wide range of data collection efforts in major global organizations. Her current firm, Resilience Alliance, provides tools and materials to help assess and develop personal, organizational, and team resilience.

Linda excels at expressing complex concepts in simple, straightforward, business-oriented language and enjoys helping people understand technical and statistical topics.

She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Tennessee and an AB in Psychology from Davidson College, and has served on the faculties of Rutgers, Georgia Tech, and Colby College. She is a licensed psychologist in the State of Georgia, and brings other influences to her work including music, photography, sailboat racing, and massage therapy. She is the author of Prosilience: Building Your Resilience for a Turbulent World.
